천마 / PEGASUS / Sky Horse
2025 NEW version

천마 / Cheonma / PEGASUS / Sky Horse – 2025 New Edition by Julian Park

On March 7, 2025, Julian Park unveiled his latest masterpiece, ‘Cheonma / PEGASUS / Sky Horse’. This extraordinary piece has been meticulously crafted using his distinctive creative method, Complete Codex, and is executed on Linen Paper, with a stunning Metallic Blue finish that imbues the work with a flowing lightness and depth.

The ‘Cheonma’ is not merely a sculpture; it is a fusion of Korean ancient art, ‘Cheonmado,’ and the Western mythological legend of Pegasus. Through this hybrid composition, Julian Park blends the symbolic essence of Eastern and Western myths, creating a new aesthetic narrative. His approach is rooted in a long-standing exploration of the aesthetic origins from both East and West, a pursuit to unearth and revitalize their timeless values within a contemporary context. This continuous dialogue between ancient artistic traditions and modern sensibilities is the foundation of his work.

The Cheonmado, discovered in the ancient tombs of the Silla period in Korea, symbolizes the sacred power of the horse and its ability to transcend into the heavens. Similarly, Pegasus in Western mythology is a creature that traverses the realms of gods and mortals, embodying the ideals of creativity, freedom, and transcendence. Julian Park’s creation fuses these two mythological images into one sculptural form, delivering a message of boundless freedom and infinite possibilities.

The aesthetic form of the piece is equally remarkable. The graceful curves and dynamic silhouette of the ‘Cheonma’ create a harmonious fusion of ancient artistic principles with a distinctly modern sensibility. The Metallic Blue finish subtly shifts with light, imparting a sense of mysterious depth and vitality, making the piece not only a decorative item but a living piece of art. It speaks a timeless narrative, transcending conventional boundaries, and fills the viewer’s space with inspiration and profound emotional resonance.

Through this piece, Julian Park aims to express peace, healing, and the unyielding strength of the human spirit. The wings of the Cheonma symbolize the courage to ascend towards new possibilities, while the powerful hooves represent an unwavering will that endures against all adversity. He envisions ‘Cheonma’ as not merely an object of art, but as a piece that breathes life into any space, offering those who encounter it a renewed sense of inspiration and a profound emotional connection.

In 2025, a new chapter begins in Julian Park’s artistic journey.

Now, the ‘Cheonma’ rises to meet you, soaring into the skies.
